Julio García Vico
Julio García Vico has been studying conducting since 2015 at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. Previously, he had completed his Master of New Music (piano) at the Ensemble Moderne and was an Academician at the Spanish National Orchestra from 2012 to 2015. He studied piano at the Music Conservatory of Madrid from 2009 to 2013. His first appearances as a conductor brought him to the Collegium Musicum in Aachen in 2018/1919, to the Komische Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf in 2017 and to the Japanese Philharmonic Orchestra of Dusseldorf, whose chief conductor he has been since 2016. He attended masterclasses with Lutz Köhler, among others. In 2018, he assisted to Rüdiger Bohn at the European Workshop for Contemporary Music and to Thomas Gabrisch at the Opera Studio of the Robert Schumann University. In 2019, he took over as assistant to Fausto Nardi at the International Opera Academy in Weikersheim.
