Since 2016, Marc Leroy-Calatayud has been assistant conductor at the Opéra National de Bordeaux and the National Orchestra of Bordeaux-Aquitaine. He studied at the conservatories in Lausanne, Vienna and Zurich and attended master classes with Bernard Haitink and Vladimir Jurowski, among others. As an assistant, he appeared at the Festival d'Aix -en-Provence (Ingo Metzmacher), at the Drottningholms Slotteater in Stockholm, at the Vienna State Opera and the Teatro alla Scala (Marc Minkowski) as well as the Tonkünstler-Orchester of Lower Austria (Andrés Orozco-Estrada). Among the concert engagements he has received so far were the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Limoges, the Musikkollegium in Winterthur, the Janácek Philharmonic Orchestra of Ostrava and the South West German Philharmonic Orchestra in Konstanz. He founded the youth orchestra Quipasseparlà and the professional ensemble Nomade and devotes himself intensively to music education.
